Prisons (Amendment) Regulations 2000
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 65 of the Prisons Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Prisons (Amendment) Regulations 2000 and shall come into operation on 11th September 2000.
Amendment of regulation 96
2.  Regulation 96 of the Prisons Regulations (Rg 2) is amended by deleting paragraphs (3) and (4).
New regulations 96A and 96B
3.  The Prisons Regulations are amended by inserting, immediately after regulation 96, the following regulations:
Maximum forfeiture of remission
96A.  The maximum periods of forfeiture of remission which may be ordered under the following sections of the Act shall be as follows:
(a) section 53 (1) (b)
 
7 days
(b) section 54 (1) (c)
 
60 days
(c) section 54 (1C)
 
90 days
(d) section 57 (2) (c)
 
180 days.
Maximum reduction in grade or postponement of promotion
96B.  The maximum periods of reduction in grade or postponement of promotion which may be ordered under the following sections of the Act shall be as follows:
(a) section 53 (1) (c)
 
30 days
(b) section 54 (1) (d)
 
60 days.”.
