Road Traffic (Electronic Road Pricing System) (Amendment) Rules 1998
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 34D and 140(1) of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Communications hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.—(1)  These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Electronic Road Pricing System) (Amendment) Rules 1998 and, with the exception of paragraph (b) of rule 4, shall come into operation on 3rd August 1998.
(2)  Paragraph (b) of rule 4 shall come into operation on 1st September 1998.
Amendment of rule 2
2.  Rule 2 of the Road Traffic (Electronic Road Pricing System) Rules 1998 (G.N. No. S176/98) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended —
(a)by deleting the words “Part II of” in the definition of “restricted hours”;
(b)by deleting the words “Part I of” in the definition of “specified entry point”; and
(c)by deleting the words “Part I of” in the definition of “specified road”.
Amendment of rule 5
3.  Rule 5 of the principal Rules is amended by deleting the words “Part II of”.
Amendment of First Schedule
4.  The principal Rules are amended —
(a)by deleting the First Schedule and substituting the following Schedule:
