Competition (Appeals) (Amendment) Regulations 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 72(15) of the Competition Act, the Minister for Trade and Industry hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Competition (Appeals) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and shall come into operation on 14th July 2006.

Amendment of regulation 7

2. Regulation 7 of the Competition (Appeals) Regulations 2006 (G.N. No. S 129/2006) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “or” at the end of paragraph (1)(d);

(b)

by deleting the full-stop at the end of sub-paragraph (e) of paragraph (1) and substituting the word “; or”, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:

“(f)	for or in relation to the cancellation of a block exemption in respect of an agreement.”; and

(c)

by deleting the words “paragraph (1)(a) to (d)” in paragraph (3)(a) and substituting the words “paragraph (1)(a), (b), (c), (d) or (f)”.

Amendment of regulation 14

3. Regulation 14(1) of the Competition (Appeals) Regulations 2006 is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (a) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:

“(a)	for an appeal in relation to regulation 7 (1)(a), (b), (c), (d) or (f), within 6 weeks of the date on which the Commission received a copy of the notice of appeal; or”.
