Declaration 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21 of the Public Order Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Declaration:

Citation

1. This Declaration is the Public Order (National Day Parade 2017) Declaration 2017.

National Day Parade 2017 is special event

2. The event known as the National Day Parade 2017, taking place at The Float @ Marina Bay in Singapore —

(a)	on 9 August 2017; or
(b)	on 12 August 2017 instead of sub‑paragraph (a),

is declared a special event for the purposes of Part III of the Act.

Special event area

3.—(1) The special event area for the National Day Parade 2017 is the area around the Marina Bay described in the Schedule.

(2) However, any land that is not a public place is not part of the special event area.

Period of special event

4. The Declaration is in force —

(a)	if the National Day Parade 2017 is held on 9 August 2017, for the whole of 9 August 2017 only; or
(b)	if the National Day Parade 2017 is held on 12 August 2017 instead, for the whole of 12 August 2017 only.
