Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (Scale of Dues, Rates and General Fees) (Amendment) Notification 1997
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 27(7) of the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore Act, the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Communications, hereby makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification may be cited as the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (Scale of Dues, Rates and General Fees) (Amendment) Notification 1997 and shall come into operation on 1st October 1997.
Amendment of Schedule
2.  Paragraph 4(1)(f) of Part I of the Schedule to the Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (Scale of Dues, Rates and General Fees) Notification 1997 (G.N. No. S 190/97) is amended by deleting sub-paragraphs (i), (ii) and (iii) and substituting the following sub-paragraphs:
(i)a charge of $20 per 10 GT or part thereof shall be levied on a harbour craft used as a bunker barge or as a tanker operating as an ocean going vessel on every occasion the craft leaves the port limits; and
(ii)where a harbour craft used as a bunker barge or tanker is not more than 5 years old, a 50% rebate of the port dues payable is to be given if the owner, agent or master of the harbour craft complies with such condition as the Authority may impose.”.
