Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Pensions Act, the President hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Pensions (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1998.

Amendment to various regulations

2. The Pensions Regulations set out in the First Schedule to the Act are amended by deleting the words “the President” wherever they appear in the following provisions and substituting in each case the words “the relevant Pension Authority”:

Regulation 7(2) (seventh line), regulation 15(5) (fifth line), regulation 15(6), regulation 15A(2) (fifth line), regulation 16(1), regulation 17(3) (fifth and sixth lines), regulation 18(1) (eighth and fifteenth lines), regulation 18(2) (second line), regulation 18(7) (sixth line), regulation 19(1) (eighth line), proviso to regulation 19(1) (fifth and seventh lines in paragraph (a) and third line in paragraph (c)), regulation 19(4) (sixth line), regulation 19(7) (sixth line), regulation 20(4) (second and third lines), regulation 20(5) (second and third lines), regulation 20(6) (second line), proviso to regulation 20(6)(f) (sixth and tenth lines of sub-paragraph (i) and fourth line of sub-paragraph (iii)), regulation 21(1) (second line), regulation 21(2) (fifth line), regulation 21(3) (fifth line), regulation 21(6) (fourth line), regulation 21(8) (seventh and eighth lines), regulation 21(9) (fifth line), regulation 21(10) (fourth line), regulation 22(2) (second line), regulation 26 (second line), item 1 in Schedule B (seventh and eighth lines and eleventh line of the second column).
