Dentists Regulations 1999
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 62 of the Dentists Act 1999, the Dental Council, with the approval of the Minister for Health, hereby makes the following Regulations:
PART I
PRELIMINARY
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Dentists Regulations 1999 and shall come into operation on 15th October 1999.
Definitions
2.—(1)  In these Regulations, unless the context otherwise requires —
“Council’s solicitor” means, in relation to proceedings before a Disciplinary Committee, an advocate and solicitor appointed under section 43(5) of the Act;
“elected members”, in relation to the Dental Council, means the members of the Dental Council referred to in section 3(2)(b) of the Act;
“legal assessor” means an assessor appointed under section 57 of the Act;
“medical assessor” means an assessor appointed under section 48(6) of the Act;
“medical practitioner” means a person registered under the Medical Registration Act (Cap.174);
“relevant dentist” means a registered dentist whose name appears in the first division of the register and who is resident in Singapore.
(2)  Any reference to the registered dentist, in relation to an inquiry by a Disciplinary Committee or a Health Committee, is a reference to the registered dentist to whom the inquiry relates.
(3)  The forms mentioned in these Regulations are those set out in the First Schedule.
