Fire Safety Act
(Chapter 109A)
Fire Safety (Registered Inspectors) (Amendment) Regulations 1996
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 61 of the Fire Safety Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Fire Safety (Registered Inspectors) (Amendment) Regulations 1996 and shall come into operation on 1st December 1996.
2.  The Fire Safety (Registered Inspectors) Regulations are amended by inserting, immediately after regulation 8, the following regulation:
Registered inspector to notify Commissioner of engagement and disengagement
8A.  A registered inspector shall —
(a)within 14 days of his being engaged by any person to perform any of the duties specified in the First Schedule; or
(b)within 14 days of the cessation of such engagement,
notify the Commissioner of his engagement or the cessation of such engagement, as the case may be, in such form as the Commissioner may require.

3.  Regulation 12 of the Fire Safety (Registered Inspectors) Regulations is amended by deleting the words “regulation 8, 9 or 10” and substituting the words “regulation 8, 8A, 9 or 10”.
