Passports (Authorised Officers) (Amendment) Regulations 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3(1) of the Passports Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Passports (Authorised Officers) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and shall come into operation on 1st February 2006.

Amendment of regulation 3

2. Regulation 3 of the Passports (Authorised Officers) Regulations (Rg 2) is amended by deleting paragraphs (a) to (e) and substituting the following paragraphs:

“(a)	the proper authority empowered to issue exit permits under section 32 of the Enlistment Act (Cap. 93);
(b)	the Commander of the Central Manpower Base;
(c)	Head, National Service Resource Management Centre (NSRMC);
(d)	Manager, National Service Resource (NSR) Branch, NSRMC; and
(e)	Management Executive, National Service Resource (NSR) Branch, NSRMC.”.

Amendment of regulation 4

3. Regulation 4 of the Passports (Authorised Officers) Regulations is amended by deleting paragraph (2) and substituting the following paragraph:

“(2) The officers referred to in paragraph (1) are —

(a)	the proper authority empowered to issue exit permits under section 32 of the Enlistment Act;
(b)	Head, National Service Resource Management Centre (NSRMC);
(c)	Manager, National Service Resource (NSR) Branch, NSRMC; and
(d)	Management Executive, National Service Resource (NSR) Branch, NSRMC.”.
