Medicines (Labelling) (Amendment) Regulations 1998
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 44 of the Medicines Act, the Minister for Health hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Medicines (Labelling) (Amendment) Regulations 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st September 1999.
New regulation 1A
2.  The Medicines (Labelling) Regulations (Rg 5) are amended by inserting, immediately after regulation 1, the following regulation:
Non-application of these Regulations
1A.  These Regulations shall not apply to Chinese proprietary medicines.”.
Amendment of regulation 2
3.  Regulation 2 of the Medicines (Labelling) Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after the definition of “appropriate quantitative particulars”, the following definition:
“ “Chinese proprietary medicines” shall have the same meaning as in the Medicines (Traditional Medicines, Homoeopathic Medicines and Other Substances) (Exemption) Order (O 6);”.
