Singapore Broadcasting Authority Act

Singapore Broadcasting Authority (Class Licence) (Amendment) Notification 2001
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 21 and 23 of the Singapore Broadcasting Authority Act, the Singapore Broadcasting Authority hereby makes the following Notification:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Notification may be cited as the Singapore Broadcasting Authority (Class Licence) (Amendment) Notification 2001 and shall come into operation on 10th October 2001.
Amendment of Schedule
2.  The Schedule to the Singapore Broadcasting Authority (Class Licence) Notification (N 1) is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after paragraph 2, the following paragraph:
2A.—(1)  Subject to sub-paragraph (2), an Internet Content Provider who is or is determined by the Authority to be a political party registered in Singapore providing any programme on the World Wide Web through the Internet shall —
(a)in the case of an Internet Content Provider who was registered with the Authority under the provisions of this Notification in force before 10th October 2001, re-register with the Authority within 14 days of that date; or
(b)in any other case, register with the Authority within 14 days of the commencement of its service.
(2)  Notwithstanding sub-paragraph (1), the Authority may permit the Internet Content Provider to register or re-register, as the case may be, with the Authority within such longer time as the Authority may permit.”;
(b)by deleting sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph 3;
(c)by deleting paragraph 5 and substituting the following paragraph:
5.  An Internet Content Provider who is required to register or re-register, as the case may be, under paragraph 2A, 3 or 4 shall —
(a)register or re-register in such form and manner as the Authority may determine; and
(b)provide the Authority with such particulars and undertakings as the Authority may require in connection with the provision of the Internet Content Provider’s service.”; and
(d)by deleting the words “register with the Authority under paragraph 2, 3 or 4” in paragraph 6 and substituting the words “register or re-register, as the case may be, under paragraph 2, 2A, 3 or 4”.
