Parks and Trees
(Amendment) Regulations 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 63 of the Parks and Trees Act 2005, the National Parks Board, with the approval of the Minister for National Development, makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Parks and Trees (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and come into operation on 1 July 2022.
Replacement of regulation 6
2.  Regulation 6 of the Parks and Trees Regulations (Rg 1) is replaced with —
Smoking in national park, nature reserve or public park prohibited
6.—(1)  A person must not smoke within any part of a national park, nature reserve or public park, other than within an area designated by the Commissioner by means of a notice displayed in, or at the boundary of, the area as a smoking facility.
(2)  In this regulation —
“smoke” means to inhale and expel the smoke of tobacco or any other substance and includes the holding of any cigar, cigarette, pipe or any other form of tobacco product which is alight or emitting smoke;
“smoking facility” means an area of a national park, nature reserve or public park, within which smoking is permitted.”.
