Criminal Procedure Code (Pleading Guilty by Electronic Means) (Amendment) Regulations 1999
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 137A(6) of the Criminal Procedure Code, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Criminal Procedure Code (Pleading Guilty by Electronic Means) (Amendment) Regulations 1999 and shall come into operation on 1st December 1999.
Deletion and substitution of regulation 4
2.  Regulation 4 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Pleading Guilty by Electronic Means) Regulations (Rg 1) is deleted and the following regulation substituted therefor:
Mode of payment of fine
4.  An accused pleading guilty to a prescribed offence at a computer terminal designated by the Registrar under section 137A (2)(a) of the Code shall pay the fine under section 137A (2)(b) of the Code using the electronic funds transfer system provided at that computer terminal.”.
Amendment of regulation 5
3.  Regulation 5 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Pleading Guilty by Electronic Means) Regulations is amended by deleting paragraph (b) and substituting the following paragraph:
(b)not later than 12 noon on the date on which the accused is required by summons, or a prescribed notice under section 133 of the Road Traffic Act (Cap. 276), to attend court in connection with the prescribed offence.”.
