Telecommunications (Exemption from Dominant Licensee Provisions in Telecom Competition Code 2005 — Stix Universal Internet Access Service — Burstable Scheme) Notification 2005

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 26(5) of the Telecommunications Act, the Info-communications Development Authority of Singapore hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Telecommunications (Exemption from Dominant Licensee Provisions in Telecom Competition Code 2005 — STIX Universal Internet Access Service — Burstable Scheme) Notification 2005 and shall come into operation on 2nd August 2005.

Exemption

2. For the purposes of paragraphs 2(2)(h)(i) and 3(3) of the Telecommunications (Exemption from Dominant Licensee Provisions in Telecom Competition Code 2005—International Capacity Services) Notification 2005 (G.N. No. S 262/2005) (the “ICS Notification”), it is notified for general information that —

(a)	the STIX Universal Internet Access Service — Burstable Scheme (the “Service”) offered by Singapore Telecommunications Limited (“SingTel”) is within the International IP Transit market specified in paragraph 2(2)(a) of the ICS Notification; and
(b)	SingTel is exempted from the provisions of the Code of Practice for Competition in the Provision of Telecommunication Services 2005 (G.N. S 87/2005) specified in paragraphs 2(1)(a)(i) to (xi) of the ICS Notification in relation to the provision of the Service.
