Misuse of Drugs Act
(Chapter 185)
Misuse of Drugs (Institute of Mental Health — Svrp) Regulations 2006
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 58 of the Misuse of Drugs Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Misuse of Drugs (Institute of Mental Health — SVRP) Regulations 2006 and shall come into operation on 1st September 2006.
Definitions
2.  In these Regulations —
“authorised employee” means any employee who is authorised by the Institute to assist any authorised medical practitioner in the treatment of any SVRP patient;
“authorised medical practitioner” means any medical practitioner who is —
(a)registered under the Medical Registration Act (Cap. 174);
(b)practising in the Institute; and
(c)authorised by the Institute to treat any SVRP patient;
“Institute” means the Institute of Mental Health;
“SVRP patient” means any person who is under the Subutex Voluntary Rehabilitation Programme administered by the Institute.
Record keeping, etc., for SVRP patients
3.  Regulations 11, 12, 14 and 15 of the Misuse of Drugs Regulations (Rg 1) shall not apply to any authorised medical practitioner or authorised employee of the Institute who issues a prescription for, dispenses or administers buprenorphine to any SVRP patient of the Institute in accordance with such directives or guidelines as may be issued by the Institute or the Ministry of Health.
