Government Contracts
(Authorisation) (Amendment)
Notification 2012

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 2 of the Government Contracts Act, the Minister for Finance hereby makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification may be cited as the Government Contracts (Authorisation) (Amendment) Notification 2012 and shall come into operation on 1st November 2012.

Amendment of Part II of First Schedule

2. Part II of the First Schedule to the Government Contracts (Authorisation) Notification 2012 (G.N. No. S 147/2012) (referred to in this Notification as the principal Notification) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the Part heading and substituting the following Part heading:

“MINISTRY OF SOCIAL AND FAMILY DEVELOPMENT”;

(b)

by deleting items 3, 6, 18, 20 and 22;

(c)

by deleting the words “National Families Council” in the first column of item 14 and substituting the words “National Family Council”; and

(d)

by deleting the words “Approving Officer of Expenditure Account” in the first column of item 25 and substituting the words “Assistant Manager”.

Amendment of Part X of First Schedule

3. Part X of the First Schedule to the principal Notification is amended by deleting the Part heading and substituting the following Part heading:

“MINISTRY OF COMMUNICATIONS AND INFORMATION”.

Amendment of Part XIII of First Schedule

4. Part XIII of the First Schedule to the principal Notification is amended —

(a)	by inserting, immediately before the words “Director (Corporate Development)” in item 3, the words “Senior Director or”; and
(b)	by inserting, immediately before the words “Assistant Director” in the first column of items 5 and 7, the word “Senior”.

New Part XXVII of First Schedule

5. The First Schedule to the principal Notification is amended by inserting, immediately after Part XXVI, the following Part:

“PART XXVII

MINISTRY OF CULTURE, COMMUNITY AND YOUTH

1.	Permanent Secretary

All contracts.

2.	Deputy Secretary

(a)	All contracts and agreements not exceeding $1 million.

(b)	Scholarship Deeds.

3.	Commissioner of Charities

All contracts and agreements not exceeding $1 million.

4.	Senior Director/ Director

(a)	Contracts for goods, services and construction services not exceeding $500,000.

(b)	Tenancy Agreements not exceeding $500,000.

(c)	Licence Agreements not exceeding $500,000.

(d)	Funding Agreements not exceeding $500,000.

(e)	Sponsorship Agreements not exceeding $500,000.

5.	Deputy Director

(a)	Contracts for goods, services and construction services not exceeding $100,000.

(b)	Tenancy Agreements not exceeding $100,000.

(c)	Licence Agreements not exceeding $100,000.

(d)	Funding Agreements not exceeding $100,000.

6.	Senior Assistant Director
