Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) (Election Meetings) (Amendment) Rules 2001
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 5 (1) of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) (Election Meetings) (Amendment) Rules 2001 and shall come into operation on 2nd November 2001.
Amendment of rule 2
2.  Rule 2(1) of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) (Election Meetings) Rules (R 2) is amended —
(a)by deleting the word “or” at the end of sub-paragraph (a); and
(b)by deleting the full-stop at the end of sub-paragraph (b) and substituting the word “; or”, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:
(c)organised by a candidate or his election agent referred to in sub-paragraph (a) or (b) and held to show support for the candidate at or about the time the results of any election referred to in sub-paragraph (a) or (b), as the case may be, are declared.”.
Amendment of rule 5
3.  Rule 5(1) of the Miscellaneous Offences (Public Order and Nuisance) (Election Meetings) Rules is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately before the words “the election meeting” in sub-paragraph (b), the words “subject to sub-paragraph (ba),”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after sub-paragraph (b), the following sub-paragraph:
(ba)any election meeting referred to in rule 2 (1)(c) shall only be held at such place and between such times as may be specified in the permit;”.
