In exercise of the powers conferred by section 21, read with section 21A, of the Public Order Act 2009, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Declaration:

Citation

1. This Declaration is the Public Order (National Day Parade 2023) Declaration 2023.

National Day Parade 2023 is special event

2. The event known as National Day Parade 2023, taking place at the Padang —

(a)	on 9 August 2023; or
(b)	on 12 August 2023 instead of sub‑paragraph (a),

is declared a special event for the purposes of Part 3 of the Act.

Special event area

3.—(1) The special event area for the National Day Parade 2023 is the area around the Padang described in the Schedule.

(2) However, any land that is not a public place is not part of the special event area.

Period of special event

4.—(1) The Declaration is in force —

(a)	if the National Day Parade 2023 is held on 9 August 2023, for the whole of 9 August 2023 only; or
(b)	if the National Day Parade 2023 is held on 12 August 2023 instead, for the whole of 12 August 2023 only.
