Medical Registration (Amendment) Act 2020
(Saving Provision) Regulations 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23(4) of the Medical Registration (Amendment) Act 2020, the Minister for Health makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Medical Registration (Amendment) Act 2020 (Saving Provision) Regulations 2022 and come into operation on 1 July 2022.

Additional saving provision

2. Despite section 7 of the Medical Registration (Amendment) Act 2020, the provisions of Part 7 of the Medical Registration Act 1997 in force immediately before 1 July 2022 (called the old Part 7) continue to apply in relation to any matter referred by the Medical Council to a Disciplinary Tribunal under section 39(4) of the old Part 7 before that date as if that Part had not been repealed.
