Poisons (Hazardous Substances) (Amendment) Rules 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(1) of the Poisons Act, the Minister for Health hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Poisons (Hazardous Substances) (Amendment) Rules 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1999.

Amendment of rule 16

2. Rule 16 of the Poisons (Hazardous Substances) Rules (R 2) is amended by inserting, immediately after the word “Woodlands” in paragraph (a), the words “or Tuas”.

Amendment of First Schedule

3. The First Schedule to the Poisons (Hazardous Substances) Rules is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Bromine, Bromine Solutions”, the following item:

“Captafol

0”;

(b)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Chlorine”, the following item:

“Chlorine trifluoride

50”;

(c)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Diethyl Sulphate”, the following item:

“Disilane

50”;

(d)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Fluorine”, the following item:

“Fluoroacetamide

0”;

(e)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Phosphorus trichloride”, the following item:

“Polybrominated biphenyls

0”;

(f)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Polychlorinated biphenyls”, the following item:

“Polychlorinated terphenyls

0”; and

(g)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Titanium tetrachloride”, the following item:

“Tris (2,3-dibromo-1-propyl) phosphate

0”.
