(Chapter 276)
Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) (Exemption) Order 2009
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Order:
Citation
1.  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) (Exemption) Order 2009.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“APEC” means Asia-Pacific Economic Co-operation;
“bus lane” means a part-day bus lane or full-day bus lane as described in rule 7(11) and (11A), respectively, of the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) Rules (R 33);
“designated bus stop” means the bus stop located in front of Fullerton Hotel along Fullerton Road bearing the bus stop number 03011;
“passengers” means the APEC delegates and their family members;
“specified bus” means buses bearing the following vehicle registration numbers:
(a)PA7391E;
(b)PA6522B;
(c)PA3768D;
(d)PA1382X;
(e)PA3187E;
(f)PA81X;
(g)PA3968T;
(h)PA5242R;
(i)PA5244K;
(j)PA3985T;
(k)PA3535J; and
(l)PA3178G.
Exemption
3.—(1)  Rule 8 of the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) Rules (R 33) shall not apply to any specified bus which is driven by any person, or which remains, on a bus lane between 6th November 2009 and 15th November 2009 (both dates inclusive) for the purpose of taking up or setting down passengers at the designated bus stop for the 2009 APEC Summit.
(2)  The exemption referred to in sub-paragraph (1) shall be valid from 6th November 2009 to 15th November 2009 (both dates inclusive).
