Sewerage and Drainage (Sanitary Works) (Amendment) Regulations 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 74(1) of the Sewerage and Drainage Act, the Public Utilities Board, with the approval of the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Sewerage and Drainage (Sanitary Works) (Amendment) Regulations 2006 and shall come into operation on 13th October 2006.

New regulation 15

2. The Sewerage and Drainage (Sanitary Works) Regulations (Rg 2) are amended by inserting, immediately after regulation 14, the following regulation:

“Rate of interest under section 51 (1) (b) of Act

15. The rate of interest under section 51(1)(b) of the Act shall be 3.6% per annum.”.

Miscellaneous amendments

3. The Sewerage and Drainage (Sanitary Works) Regulations are amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “Director” wherever it appears in the following regulations and substituting in each case the word “Board”:

Regulations 3 (f) to (i), 4(1) and (2), 5(2), 6(1), (2), (4) and (5) and 13A(1);

(b)

by deleting the word “he” in regulation 4(2) and substituting the word “it”; and

(c)

by deleting the word “his” in regulation 6(1)(b), (4) and (5) and substituting in each case the word “its”.
