Private Education (Exemption) Order 2009
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 68 of the Private Education Act 2009, the Minister for Education hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order may be cited as the Private Education (Exemption) Order 2009 and shall come into operation on 21st December 2009.
Exemption from requirements for permission to provide courses
2.—(1)  Every registered private education institution specified in the Schedule shall be exempted from section 43(1) and (12) of the Act.
(2)  Every registered private education institution specified in Part I of the Schedule shall be exempted from section 43(3) of the Act.
(3)  Every registered private education institution specified in Part II of the Schedule shall be exempted from section 43(3) of the Act in respect of any core course.
(4)  In this paragraph, “core course”, in relation to a registered private education institution, means a course —
(a)that the Minister has recognised to be a course that is related to an area of specialisation of the registered private education institution; and
(b)that leads to the award of a degree that is conferred in the name of the registered private education institution.
Exemption from requirements on deployment of teachers
3.  Every registered private education institution specified in the Schedule shall be exempted from section 44(1)(b) and (c), (2) and (3) of the Act.
Exemption of Singapore Institute of Technology
4.  The Singapore Institute of Technology shall be exempted from Parts III, IV and VI of the Act.
