Singapore Academy of Law (Stakeholding) (Amendment) Rules 2006

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 27 of the Singapore Academy of Law Act, the Senate of the Academy hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Singapore Academy of Law (Stakeholding) (Amendment) Rules 2006 and shall come into operation on 3rd November 2006.

Amendment of rule 2

2. Rule 2 of the Singapore Academy of Law (Stakeholding) Rules (R 2) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately after the words “(Cap. 281, R 1)” in the definition of “ “Purchaser” or “Vendor” ”, the words “, the Housing and Development (Design-Build-And-Sell Scheme — Form of Contract) Rules 2006 (G.N. No. S 508/2006)”;

(b)

by inserting, immediately after the words “Sale of Commercial Properties Rules” in the definition of “stakeholding money”, the words “, the Housing and Development (Design-Build-And-Sell Scheme — Form of Contract) Rules 2006”; and

(c)

by deleting the definition of “working day” and substituting the following definition:

“ “working day” means —

(a)	in a case where the stakeholding money is paid or to be paid to the Academy as stakeholder under the Sale and Purchase Agreement to which the Housing Developers Rules, the Sale of Commercial Properties Rules or the Executive Condominium Housing Scheme Regulations apply, any day from Monday to Saturday (both inclusive) which is not a public holiday; and
(b)	in a case where the stakeholding money is paid or to be paid to the Academy as stakeholder under the Sale and Purchase Agreement to which the Housing and Development (Design-Build-And-Sell Scheme — Form of Contract) Rules 2006 apply, any day from Monday to Friday (both inclusive) which is not a public holiday.”.

Amendment of rule 6

3. Rule 6(2) of the Singapore Academy of Law (Stakeholding) Rules is amended by inserting, immediately after the words “(Cap. 281, R 1)”, the words “, the Housing and Development (Design-Build-And-Sell Scheme — Form of Contract) Rules 2006 (G.N. No. S 508/2006)”.
