(Automated Road Defects Inspection —
Exemption) Order 2023
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 82 of the Infrastructure Protection Act 2017, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Infrastructure Protection (Automated Road Defects Inspection — Exemption) Order 2023 and comes into operation on 5 September 2023.
Exemption from taking photograph of protected area or protected place
2.  Section 29(1) of the Act does not apply to any person under a contract for service (called in this Order a contractor) with the Land Transport Authority of Singapore to conduct an automated road defects inspection, or any employee of the contractor acting on the contractor’s behalf for the conduct of the inspection, if the inspection is conducted under all of the following conditions:
(a)the contractor or employee acts in accordance with any direction of the Land Transport Authority of Singapore relating to the taking of any photograph of a protected area or a protected place;
(b)the taking of any photograph of a protected area or a protected place is conducted using equipment mounted on or inside the inspection vehicle;
(c)the taking of any photograph of a protected area or a protected place is solely for the purposes of the inspection.
