National Registration (Amendment) Regulations 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the National Registration Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the National Registration (Amendment) Regulations 2008 and shall come into operation on 1st December 2008.
Amendment of regulation 3
2.  Regulation 3 of the National Registration Regulations (Rg 2) is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph (1), the following paragraph:
(1A)  A person who is required to register under the Act, may, at any time in the year he attains the age of 15 years, but not earlier, report to the registration officer and register in accordance with these Regulations; and on such reporting, the person shall be regarded for the purposes of these Regulations as applying for registration under the Act and regulation 4 shall apply to that person.”.
Amendment of regulation 22
3.  Regulation 22(1) of the National Registration Regulations is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (b) and substituting the following sub-paragraph:
(b)a child of any age before the start of the year in which he attains the age of 15 years;”.
