Passports Act

Passports (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1998
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Passports Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Passports (Amendment No. 2) Regulations 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1999.
Deletion and substitution of regulation 13
2.  Regulation 13 of the Passports Regulations (Rg 1) is deleted and the following regulation substituted therefor:
Endorsement of particulars on Singapore passports, etc.
13.—(1)  An authorised officer may, in issuing or renewing a Singapore passport, certificate of identity or document of identity or at any time thereafter, endorse the passport, certificate or document with such particulars in respect of the holder as the officer thinks fit.
(2)  An authorised officer may, in renewing a Singapore passport, certificate of identity or document of identity or at any time thereafter, delete any endorsement made under paragraph (1) or under the deleted regulation 13 in force immediately before 1st January 1999.”.
Amendment of First Schedule
3.  The First Schedule to the Passports Regulations is amended by deleting sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph 1.
