International Arbitration (New York Convention Countries) (Amendment) Order 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 32(1) of the International Arbitration Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the International Arbitration (New York Convention Countries) (Amendment) Order 1998 and shall come into operation on 29th December 1998.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the International Arbitration (New York Convention Countries) Order (O 1) is amended —

(a)	by inserting, immediately after the word “China” in the first column, the words “(including the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region from 1st July 1997)”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “United Kingdom (including Gibraltar, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Isle of Man, Hong Kong and Guernsey)” in the first column and substituting the words “United Kingdom (including Gibraltar, Bermuda, Cayman Islands, Isle of Man, Hong Kong before 1st July 1997, and Guernsey)”.
