Poisons (Amendment No. 4) Rules 1998

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 20(1) of the Poisons Act, the Minister for Health hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Poisons (Amendment No. 4) Rules 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1999.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The First Schedule to the Poisons Rules (R 1) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Alcuronium; its salts”, the following item:

“Aldesleukin”;

(b)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Barbituric acid; its salts; derivatives of barbituric acid; their salts; compounds of barbituric acid, its salts; its derivatives, their salts, with any other substance”, the following items:

“Basiliximab

Becaplermin”;

(c)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Cephradine”, the following item:

“Cerivastatin; its salts”;

(d)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Flecainide; its salts”, the following item:

“Floxuridine”;

(e)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Ifosfamide”, the following item:

“Imidapril; its salts”;

(f)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Imipramine; its salts”, the following item:

“Imiquimod”;

(g)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Nefopam; its salts”, the following item:

“Nelfinavir; its salts; its esters; their salts”;

(h)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Netilmicin; its salts; its esters; their salts”, the following item:

“Nevirapine; its salts”;

(i)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Nomegestrol; its salts; its esters; their salts”, the following item:

“Nometasone; its salts; its esters; their salts”;

(j)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Oleandomycin; its salts; its esters; their salts”, the following item:

“Olopatadine”;

(k)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Rituximab”, the following item:

“Rivastigmine; its salts; its esters; their salts”; and

(l)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Yohimba, alkaloids of; its quarternary compounds; their salts”, the following item:

“Zafirlukast”;

Amendment of Third Schedule

3. The Third Schedule to the Poisons Rules (R 1) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Alcuronium; its salts”, the following item:

“Aldesleukin”;

(b)

“Basiliximab

Becaplermin”;

(c)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Cephradine”, the following item:

“Cerivastatin; its salts”;

(d)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Flecainide; its salts”, the following item:

“Floxuridine”;

(e)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Ifosfamide”, the following item:

“Imidapril; its salts”;

(f)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Imipramine; its salts”, the following item:

“Imiquimod”;

(g)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Nefopam; its salts”, the following item:

(h)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Netilmicin; its salts; its esters; their salts”, the following item:

(i)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Nomegestrol; its salts; its esters; their salts”, the following item:

“Nometasone; its salts; its esters; their salts”;

(j)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Oleandomycin; its salts; its esters; their salts”, the following item:

“Olopatadine”;

(k)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Rituximab”, the following item:

“Rivastigmine; its salts; its esters; their salts”; and

(l)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Xylazine; its salts”, the following item:

“Zafirlukast”.
