(Security Service Providers) (Amendment)
Regulations 2010

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 39 of the Private Security Industry Act, the Minister for Home Affairs hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Private Security Industry (Security Service Providers) (Amendment) Regulations 2010 and shall come into operation on 1st November 2010.

New regulation 9A

2. The Private Security Industry (Security Service Providers) Regulations 2009 (G.N. No. S 168/2009) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) are amended by inserting, immediately after regulation 9, the following regulation:

“Change of business address

9A.—(1) A licensed security service provider shall notify the licensing officer of any change in his business address not later than 14 days after the date of such change.

(2) A notification under paragraph (1) shall be submitted using the electronic service provided by the licensing officer.

(3) A fee of $20 shall be payable in respect of each notification of a change of business address under paragraph (1).”.

Amendment of regulation 10

3. Regulation 10 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “his business address or” in paragraph (1); and
(b)	by deleting the words “address or” in paragraph (2).

Amendment of regulation 11

4. Regulation 11 of the principal Regulations is amended —

(a)

by deleting the word “and” at the end of sub-paragraph (d) of paragraph (1), and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:

“(da)

a notification of a change in business address of a licensed security service provider under regulation 9A; and”;

(b)

by deleting the words “the business address of a security service provider or” in paragraphs (1)(e) and (2)(e); and

(c)

by deleting the word “and” at the end of sub-paragraph (d) of paragraph (2), and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:

“(da)

a notification of a change in business address of a licensed security service provider under regulation 9A shall be in such form and manner as the licensing officer may determine; and”.

Amendment of regulation 13

5. Regulation 13 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “9 or” and substituting the words “9, 9A or”.

Amendment of regulation 15

6. Regulation 15 of the principal Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after “8,” in paragraph (a), “9A,”.
