Parking Places
(Provision of Parking Places and
Parking Lots) (Amendment) Rules 2022

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 22 of the Parking Places Act 1974, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1.—(1) These Rules are the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Lots) (Amendment) Rules 2022 and, except for rule 3, come into operation on 1 August 2022.

(2) Rule 3 is deemed to have come into operation on 31 December 2021.

Amendment of rule 2

2. In rule 2 of the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Lots) Rules 2018 (G.N. No. S 286/2018) (definition of “floor area”), replace “Planning (Development Charges) Rules (Cap. 232, R 5)” with “Planning (Development) Rules 2008 (G.N. No. S 113/2008)”.

Miscellaneous amendments

3. In the Parking Places (Provision of Parking Places and Parking Lots) Rules 2018 —

(a)

in the following provisions, replace “(Cap. 232)” with “1998”:

Rule 2 (definitions of “approval of the competent authority” and “development”)

Rule 3(1)(a)

The Schedule, Part 4, item 11;

(b)

in the following provisions, after “Planning Act”, insert “1998”:

Rule 2 (definitions of “Business 1 zone”, “competent authority”, “develop” and “white site”)

Rule 3(1)(b) and (2)(a) and (b);

(c)

in rule 2 (definition of “competent authority”), replace “Part III” with “Part 3”;

(d)

in rule 2 (definition of “qualified person”), replace “(Cap. 29)” with “1989”; and

(e)

in rule 8(1)(b), replace “(Cap. 129)” with “1959”.
