Road Traffic Act
(Chapter 276)
Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) (Amendment No. 3) Rules 1998
In exercise of the powers conferred by sections 119 and 140 of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Communications, hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) (Amendment No. 3) Rules 1998 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1999.
Amendment of rule 7
2.  Rule 7 of the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) Rules (R 33) is amended —
(a)by deleting paragraph (4) and substituting the following paragraph:
(4)  A zebra pedestrian crossing is indicated by markings across a road as shown in diagram 142(a), 142(b), 143(a), 143(b), 144(a) or 144(b) in Part III of the Schedule and such crossing may, in addition, also be identified on either side of the road by a pair of —
(a)traffic signs facing approaching vehicles as set out in diagram 125(a) in Part III of the Schedule; or
(b)amber beacons of not less than 300 mm in diameter which may be intermittently or otherwise internally illuminated.”; and
(b)by deleting "300 mm" in the second line of paragraph (5) and substituting "200 mm".
Amendment of Schedule
3.  Part III of the Schedule to the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) Rules is amended —
(a)by deleting diagram 125(b);
(b)by deleting diagram 140(a) and substituting the following diagram:
