Gambling Control Act
(Amendment of Second Schedule —
Saving and Transitional Arrangements)
Order 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 140(3) of the Gambling Control Act 2022, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order is the Gambling Control Act (Amendment of Second Schedule — Saving and Transitional Arrangements) Order 2022 and comes into operation on 1 August 2022.
Amendment of Second Schedule
2.  In the Second Schedule to the Act, after Part 6, insert —
PART 7 — OFFENCES UNDER
REPEALED REMOTE GAMBLING ACT 2014
1.—(1)  Despite section 139(c), any police officer or other public officer, or any employee of a public authority —
(a)who was appointed under section 32 of the Remote Gambling Act 2014 to exercise any power under section 36 of that Act; and
(b)whose appointment as such is valid on 31 July 2022,
may, for a period of 12 months starting 1 August 2022, continue to compound in accordance with section 36 of the Remote Gambling Act 2014 any compoundable offence reasonably suspected to have been committed before 1 August 2022 under that Act, as if section 139(c) had not been enacted.
(2)  In sub-paragraph (1), “compoundable offence” means an offence prescribed as a compoundable offence under the Remote Gambling (Composition of Offences) Regulations 2015 (G.N. No. S 50/2015) before the repeal of the Remote Gambling Act 2014 on 1 August 2022 by section 139(c).”.
