Road Traffic Act
(Chapter 276)
Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) (Amendment) Rules 2008
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 119 of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, hereby makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) (Amendment) Rules 2008 and shall come into operation on 20th December 2008.
Amendment of rule 7
2.  Rule 7 of the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) Rules (R 33) is amended —
(a)by deleting the word “and” at the end of paragraph (1)(m);
(b)by deleting the full-stop at the end of sub-paragraph (n) of paragraph (1) and substituting a semi-colon, and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraphs:
(o)a Bus Give-Way Controlled Area;
(p)a Bus Give-Way Line; and
(q)a Bus Give-Way Box.”; and
(c)by inserting, immediately after paragraph 13, the following paragraphs:
(14)  A Bus Give-Way Controlled Area is the section of a road marked by white triangle markings and the word “Bus” in white as shown in diagram 116(d) in Part III of the Schedule.
(15)  A Bus Give-Way Box is the section of a road painted in yellow and marked by an arrow, which —
(a)appears after a Bus Give-Way Controlled Area; and
(b)is separated from the Bus Give-Way Controlled Area by a Bus Give-Way Line,
as shown in diagram 116(d) in Part III of the Schedule.”.
Amendment of Schedule
3.  The Schedule to the Road Traffic (Traffic Signs) Rules is amended —
(a)by inserting, immediately after diagram 10 under the heading “PRIORITY SIGNS” in Part I, the following diagram:
“ UNKNOWN”; and
(b)by inserting, immediately after diagram 116(c) in Part III, the following diagram:
“ UNKNOWN”.
