(Amendment) Rules 2024
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 115 of the Patents Act 1994, the Minister for Law, after consulting with the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore, makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules are the Patents (Amendment) Rules 2024 and come into operation on 16 August 2024.
Amendment of rule 42
2.  In the Patents Rules (R 1), in rule 42, replace paragraph (1B) with —
(1B)  If the final results of a search mentioned in paragraph (1A)(b) or (c) have been established by the Office under the Patent Co‑operation Treaty, a copy of any document mentioned in paragraph (1A)(b), (c), (d) and (e) need not be filed.”.
Saving provision
3.  Rule 42 of the Patents Rules as in force immediately before 16 August 2024 continues to apply, as if rule 2 had not been made, to a request for an examination report made before that date.
