(Amendment No. 2) Order 2019

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 30 of the Medicines Act, the Minister for Health makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Medicines (Prohibition of Sale and Supply) (Amendment No. 2) Order 2019 and comes into operation on 1 January 2020.

Amendment of paragraph 1

2. Paragraph 1 of the Medicines (Prohibition of Sale and Supply) Order (O 4) is amended by deleting the words “and Supply” and substituting the words “, Supply and Importation”.

Amendment of paragraph 3

3. Paragraph 3 of the Medicines (Prohibition of Sale and Supply) Order is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “No person shall sell or supply to any person” in sub‑paragraph (1) and substituting the words “Subject to sub‑paragraph (1A), a person must not sell or supply to any other person”;

(b)

by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (1), the following sub‑paragraph:

“(1A) A person must not sell, supply or import any topical antiseptic that contains mercury or any compound of mercury.”; and

(c)

by deleting the words “and supply” in the paragraph heading and substituting the words “, supply and importation”.
