In exercise of the powers conferred by section 23 of the Motor Vehicles (Third‑Party Risks and Compensation) Act 1960, the Minister for Transport makes the following Notification:

Citation and commencement

1. This Notification is the Motor Vehicles (Third‑Party Risks and Compensation) (Coast Cycles Pte. Ltd. — Exemption) (Amendment) Notification 2022 and comes into operation on 1 August 2022.

Amendment of paragraph 1

2. In paragraph 1(2) of the Motor Vehicles (Third‑Party Risks and Compensation) (Coast Cycles Pte. Ltd. — Exemption) Notification 2022 (G.N. No. S 98/2022) (called in this Notification the principal Notification), replace “21 August 2022” with “28 February 2023”.

Amendment of paragraph 2

3. In paragraph 2 of the principal Notification (definition of “trial”), replace “21 August 2022” with “28 February 2023”.

Amendment of paragraph 3

4. In paragraph 3 of the principal Notification —

(a)

in sub‑paragraph (b)(ii), replace “light‑coloured” with “bright‑coloured”;

(b)

in sub‑paragraph (c), replace “2” with “3”; and

(c)

after sub‑paragraph (c), insert —

“(ca)

the charging of the batteries of the trial power‑assisted bicycle does not take place, at any time, on any road;”.

Amendment of Schedule

5. In the Schedule to the principal Notification, after Map 5, insert —

”.
