Education Endowment Scheme Act
(Chapter 87A)
Education Endowment Scheme (Good Progress Awards) (Amendment) Regulations 2001
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 24(a) of the Education Endowment Scheme Act, the Minister for Education hereby makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations may be cited as the Education Endowment Scheme (Good Progress Awards) (Amendment) Regulations 2001 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1st November 2001.
Amendment of regulation 5
2.  Regulation 5 of the Education Endowment Scheme (Good Progress Awards) Regulations (Rg 7, 2001 Ed.) is amended —
(a)by deleting the word “and” at the end of sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (1), and by inserting immediately thereafter the following sub-paragraph:
(aa)has attained a good or better grade for conduct in that year; and”; and
(b)by deleting the definition of “qualifying gain in rank” in paragraph (7) and substituting the following definition:
“ “qualifying gain in rank” means the lowest gain in rank which is obtained by any pupil standing among the 10% of —
(a)all pupils in the same stream and standard in a primary or secondary school who have obtained the highest gains in rank in that year;
(b)all pupils reading the same course at the same level in a junior college who have obtained the highest gains in rank in that year; or
(c)all pupils reading the same course at the same level in a training institute who have obtained the highest gains in rank in that year,
as the case may be;”.
