People’s Association
(Community Development Councils)
(Amendment) Rules 2015

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 9(a) and (b) of the People’s Association Act, the Board of Management of the People’s Association makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the People’s Association (Community Development Councils) (Amendment) Rules 2015 and are deemed to have come into operation on 2 October 2015.

Deletion and substitution of First Schedule

2. The First Schedule to the People’s Association (Community Development Councils) Rules (R 2) is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:

Savings and transitional provisions

3.—(1) As from 2 October 2015 —

(a)	all decisions of the Council for any District existing immediately before that date (called in this paragraph a former District) that affect or relate to any part of the former District that, by these Rules, becomes comprised in or part of another District (called in this paragraph a new District) are deemed to be the decisions of the Council of the new District; and
(b)	all funds held on that date by or on behalf of the Council for the former District for the purpose of any part of the former District that, by these Rules, becomes comprised in or part of the new District are deemed to be the funds of the Council of the new District.

(2) If any question arises as to whether any particular funds of a Council have been transferred under paragraph (1)(b) to another Council, a certificate under the hand of the Chief Executive Director of the People’s Association is conclusive evidence that the funds were or were not so transferred.
