Supreme Court (Maintenance Orders)
(Amendment No. 2) Rules 2014

In exercise of the powers conferred on us by section 80 of the Supreme Court of Judicature Act, we, the Rules Committee, hereby make the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Supreme Court (Maintenance Orders) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2014 and shall be deemed to have come into operation on 1 October 2014.

Amendment of rule 9

2. Rule 9 of the Supreme Court (Maintenance Orders) Rules (R 2) (referred to in these Rules as the principal Rules) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “District Court” and substituting the words “Family Court”;
(b)	by deleting the words “the District Judge” and substituting the words “the judge of the Family Court”; and
(c)	by deleting the words “District Judge” in the rule heading and substituting the words “Judge of Family Court”.

Amendment of rule 10

3. Rule 10 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “District Court” and substituting the words “Family Court”;

(b)

by deleting the words “State Courts” and substituting the words “Family Justice Courts”; and

(c)

by deleting the rule heading and substituting the following rule heading:

“Payments due under order registered under section 3 of Act or provisional order confirmed under section 6 of Act”.

Amendment of rule 12

4. Rule 12 of the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “Magistrate’s Court or a District Court” and substituting the words “Family Court”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “State Courts” and substituting the words “Family Justice Courts”.

Amendment of Schedule

5. The Schedule to the principal Rules is amended —

(a)	by deleting the words “District Court” and substituting the words “Family Court”; and
(b)	by deleting the words “District Judge” and substituting the words “Judge of the Family Court”.

Miscellaneous amendments

6. The principal Rules are amended by deleting the words “District Court” in the following provisions and substituting in each case the words “Family Court”:

Rules 3, 6(1) and 7 and rule heading.
