Road Traffic Act

Road Traffic (Identification Marks on Asian Aerospace Exhibition Vehicles) (Exemption) Order 2004
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Transport hereby makes the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.  This Order may be cited as the Road Traffic (Identification Marks on Asian Aerospace Exhibition Vehicles) (Exemption) Order 2004 and shall come into operation on 19th February 2004.
Definitions
2.  In this Order —
“identification mark” means an identification mark described in rule 15 of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5);
“relevant period” means the period beginning on 19th February 2004 and ending on 1st March 2004;
“special identification mark”, in relation to any vehicle, means a mark set out in the second column of the Schedule for that vehicle.
Exemption
3.—(1)  Subject to sub-paragraph (2), each of the vehicles bearing the registration numbers set out in the first column of the Schedule shall be exempted from —
(a)section 26 of the Act; and
(b)rules 15 to 19 of the Road Traffic (Motor Vehicles, Registration and Licensing) Rules (R 5) in respect of its identification mark,
during the relevant period when used in connection with the Asian Aerospace Exhibition 2004.
(2)  The exemption referred to in sub-paragraph (1) is subject to the condition that the corresponding special identification mark for that vehicle is fixed on the vehicle as if it were the identification mark of that vehicle.
