Road Traffic
(Driving Instructors and Driving Schools)
(Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2016

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 142 of the Road Traffic Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Order:

Citation and commencement

1. This Order is the Road Traffic (Driving Instructors and Driving Schools) (Exemption) (Amendment) Order 2016 and comes into operation on 1 January 2017.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the Road Traffic (Driving Instructors and Driving Schools) (Exemption) Order 2011 (G.N. No. S 662/2011) is amended —

(a)

by deleting paragraph 3 and substituting the following paragraph:

“3. Every driving instructor employed by the driving school must either —

(a)	be a holder of an instructor’s licence; or
(b)	be exempted from holding an instructor’s licence under the Road Traffic (Exemption from Requirement for Instructor’s Licence) Order 2016 (G.N. No. S 694/2016).”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (b) of paragraph 5, the following sub‑paragraph:

“(ba)

certifications of the physical fitness of driving instructors employed by the driving school;”.
