Prisons (Advisory Committees)
(Amendment) Regulations 2022
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 84 of the Prisons Act 1933, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Regulations:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Regulations are the Prisons (Advisory Committees) (Amendment) Regulations 2022 and come into operation on 2 September 2022.
Amendment of regulation 2
2.  In regulation 2 of the Prisons (Advisory Committees) Regulations 2014 (G.N. No. S 448/2014), (definition of “Committee”), replace paragraph (a) with —
(a)an Employment Preparation Advisory Committee referred to in regulation 151LC of the Prisons Regulations (Rg 2);”.
Deletion of regulation 12
3.  Delete regulation 12 of the Prisons (Advisory Committees) Regulations 2014.
Transitional provision
4.  Every person (A) who, immediately before 2 September 2022, is a chairman, deputy chairman or member of an Employment Release Advisory Committee appointed under regulation 4 of the Prisons (Advisory Committees) Regulations 2014 continues in such appointment as if A were appointed by the Minister under that regulation as a chairman, deputy chairman or member (as the case may be) of an Employment Preparation Advisory Committee, and A’s appointment expires on the date A’s appointment would have expired if these Regulations had not been made.
