Rules 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 8 of the Parking Places Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore, with the approval of the Minister for Transport, makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules are the Parking Places (Licensing and Control of Private Parking Places for Heavy Vehicles) (Amendment No. 2) Rules 2017 and come into operation on 2 January 2018.

Amendment of Second Schedule

2. The Second Schedule to the Parking Places (Licensing and Control of Private Parking Places for Heavy Vehicles) Rules (R 1) is amended by inserting, immediately after paragraph 9, the following paragraphs:

“10. A licensee must not issue a vehicle parking certificate under rule 5 of the Parking Places (Parking of Heavy Vehicles) Rules (R 4) to a person except where that person has a designated parking space for the parking of that person’s heavy vehicle.

11. A licensee must not, during the validity of a vehicle parking certificate that has been issued to a person, prevent, obstruct or interfere with, or cause the prevention, obstruction or interference of the parking of that person’s heavy vehicle at the designated parking space mentioned in the certificate.

12. A licensee of a private parking place must ensure that no vehicle other than a heavy vehicle is parked in any parking lot in that parking place for the parking of one heavy vehicle, during the period from 12 midnight to 6 a.m. of any day.”.
