Rules 2015

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 111 of the Road Traffic Act, the Land Transport Authority of Singapore makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Taxi Vocational Licence Demerit Points System) (Amendment) Rules 2015 and come into operation on 1 December 2015.

Amendment of First Schedule

2. The First Schedule to the Road Traffic (Taxi Vocational Licence Demerit Points System) Rules (R 43) is amended —

(a)

by deleting the words “Setting taximeter in motion before hiring” in the first column of item (4) and substituting the words “Starting taximeter before boarding of passenger or passengers, and hiring of taxi”;

(b)

by deleting item (5) and substituting the following item:

“

(5)

Failing to stop taximeter as soon as hiring of taxi is terminated

(c)

by inserting, immediately after item (6), the following item:

“

(6A)

Attempting to collect booking fee that exceeds booking fee set by registered provider

Rule 23(l) PSVC

”;

(d)

by inserting, immediately after item (19), the following item:

“

(19A)

Collecting booking fee that exceeds booking fee set by registered provider (by less than $20)

Rule 23(l) PSVC

”; and

(e)

by inserting, immediately after item (25), the following item:

“

(25A)

Collecting booking fee that exceeds booking fee set by registered provider (by $20 or more)

Rule 23(l) PSVC

”.
