Plant Varieties Protection
(Amendment) Rules 2013

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 54 of the Plant Varieties Protection Act, the Minister for Law hereby makes the following Rules:

Citation and commencement

1. These Rules may be cited as the Plant Varieties Protection (Amendment) Rules 2013 and shall come into operation on 9th December 2013.

Amendment of Third Schedule

2. The Third Schedule to the Plant Varieties Protection Rules (R 1) is amended —

(a)	by inserting, immediately after the word “plants” in item 1, the words “excluding Jatropha curcas”; and
(b)	by inserting, immediately after the word “plants” in item 3, the words “or Jatropha curcas”.

Deletion and substitution of Fourth Schedule

3. The Fourth Schedule to the Plant Varieties Protection Rules is deleted and the following Schedule substituted therefor:
