National Registration (Photographs)
Regulations 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 19 of the National Registration Act, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the National Registration (Photographs) Regulations 2017 and come into operation on 1 January 2018.

Photograph to comply with requirements

2. Every photograph provided to a registration officer for the purposes of registration or re‑registration under the Act must —

(a)	be taken not more than 3 months before the date of the application;
(b)	bear a similar likeness to the individual applying for registration or re-registration (called in these Regulations the applicant);
(c)	not be tampered with;
(d)	be clear and undistorted; and
(e)	comply with the specifications set out in the Schedule.

Revocation

3. The National Registration (Photographs) Regulations (Rg 1) are revoked.
