(Pensions) (Amendment)
Regulations 2015

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 205 of the Singapore Armed Forces Act, the Armed Forces Council hereby makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations may be cited as the Singapore Armed Forces (Pensions) (Amendment) Regulations 2015 and come into operation on 14 February 2015.

Amendment of regulation 2

2. Regulation 2(1) of the Singapore Armed Forces (Pensions) Regulations (Rg 9) (referred to in these Regulations as the principal Regulations) is amended —

(a)	by deleting the semi-colon at the end of the definition of “short service commission” and substituting a full‑stop; and
(b)	by deleting the definition of “volunteer”.

Amendment of regulation 37

3. Regulation 37(1) of the principal Regulations is amended by inserting, immediately after sub‑paragraph (b), the following sub‑paragraph:

“(ba)

despite sub-paragraph (b), in the case of a volunteer in the uniformed service of the Singapore Armed Forces known as the Singapore Armed Forces Volunteer Corps, a gratuity of an amount determined by the Armed Forces Council;”.

Amendment of regulation 45

4. Regulation 45 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “regulation 37(d)” in paragraph (a) and substituting the words “regulation 37(1)(d)”.

Amendment of regulation 46

5. Regulation 46 of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words “regulation 37(b)” in paragraph (a) and substituting the words “regulation 37(1)(b) or (ba), as the case may be”.
