Environmental Protection and Management
(Hazardous Substances) (Amendment)
Regulations 2017

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 77(1) of the Environmental Protection and Management Act, the National Environment Agency, with the approval of the Minister for the Environment and Water Resources, makes the following Regulations:

Citation and commencement

1. These Regulations are the Environmental Protection and Management (Hazardous Substances) (Amendment) Regulations 2017 and come into operation on 30 June 2018.

Amendment of Schedule

2. The Schedule to the Environmental Protection and Management (Hazardous Substances) Regulations (Rg 4) is amended —

(a)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Polychlorinated biphenyls”, the following item:

“

Polychlorinated naphthalenes

”; and

(b)

by inserting, immediately below the item “Pyrethroid compounds used as pesticides”, the following item:

“

Short-chain chlorinated paraffins (chain lengths at least C₁₀ but not exceeding C₁₃)

”.
