Rules 2015
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 28(6) of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2014, the Minister for Home Affairs makes the following Rules:
Citation and commencement
1.  These Rules may be cited as the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2014 (Savings and Transitional Provisions) (No. 2) Rules 2015 and come into operation on 1 January 2016.
Savings provision for certain work pass drivers
2.—(1)  During the period beginning on 1 January 2016 and ending on 31 December 2016 —
(a)sections 8 and 27(b) and (c) of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2014 do not apply to a holder of a valid foreign driving licence who became a work pass driver before 1 January 2016 and who continues to be a work pass driver on 1 January 2016; and
(b)sections 38 and 47F(4) of the Road Traffic Act (Cap. 276) as in force immediately before 1 January 2016 continue to apply to such a holder of a valid foreign driving licence as if sections 8 and 27(b) and (c) of the Road Traffic (Amendment) Act 2014 had not been enacted.
(2)  In this rule, “work pass driver” means the holder of a work pass issued under the Employment of Foreign Manpower Act (Cap. 91A) who drives a motor vehicle carrying passengers or goods or both —
(a)for hire or reward; or
(b)because of or under a contract of employment.
